
STORYWORLD™ is a multilingual, multimodal, multisensory early literacy program consisting of interactive stories with phonics and phonemic awareness activities that support literacy development in any language. An analytic dashboard allows educators to track learning progress for each student and identify individual student challenges.
Why StoryWorld is our partner
StoryWorld’’s multilingual platform provides extensive word-by-word literacy supports for students who’s main language may not be the target language of instruction. This makes the StoryWorld literacy platform uniquely suited for bilingual or multilingual learning environments experienced by nearly half of all learners globally.
The platform is built on enterprise system that meets the needs of both schools and parents at home. The program works on any device as a web app and is currently being designed for low-bandwidth environments.
StoryWorld was developed through extensive R/R&D funded by the US Department of Education (2 IES/SBIR awards) and NewSchools Venture Fund, with WestEd serving as the research partner for in-school research over 3 years.
Research results from WestEd demonstrated statistically significant increases key reading metrics in less than one month:
5% increase in Reading Motivation among below-average readers
7.5% increase in Value of reading among below-average readers ;
2.5% increase in Reading Motivation among all students







STORYWORLD & R.E.A.L. Reader
StoryWorld International Corporation’s technology team is leading R&D efforts for the R.E.A.L. Reader diagnostic tool, supported by seed funding from the Tools Competition.
By agreement with the Literacy and Language Institute (LLI), StoryWorld is committed to provide:
A fully-developed working program for testing and deployment at scale
A student-facing interface capable of presenting the test in multiple languages
Back-end literacy analytics with reports available for teachers and administrators
Data (anonymized as appropriate) for research purposes through LLI—free or at cost
Coordination with researchers to assure the tool provides consistently reliable outcome data for all stakeholders


The Language and Learning Institute is an educational program of Global Action Platform, a 501c3 non-profit organization. Funding for the L&L Institute is tax deductible to the extent provided by the law and is applied toward ongoing program development and services to the public
